Go here if you want solid pub food and a functioning bar scene without the tourist trap markup you'll find elsewhere on Banff Avenue. They brew their own beer on-site, which means you're drinking fresh IPAs and lagers instead of whatever's on tap at the hotel. The space fills up fast in evenings and weekends, so come early or you'll be standing at the bar nursing a drink.
Order the burgers. They're consistent, made with decent beef, and actually worth your money. The wings are respectable too. Their seasonal brews rotate, so ask your server what's fresh that week. The dining room is loud and casual, which works fine if you're here with friends but makes solo meals feel awkward.
Skip this place during peak summer (July and August) unless you like elbow-to-elbow crowds. You'll get better service and a quieter experience in late June or September. The trade-off is that you're eating in a fairly standard brewpub atmosphere, not anywhere particularly memorable. This suits locals, hikers in town for a night, and anyone craving a burger and a decent beer without the theatrical presentation.
