The Grizzly House has been on Banff Ave since 1967 and has not changed enough to matter. The retro interior is preserved with the kind of confidence that comes from having outlasted every trend that passed through Banff in the intervening decades. The in-booth phones that connect your table to others in the restaurant are still there.

The fondue is the reason to come and it is done correctly. The cheese fondue uses a proper Swiss base and the hot oil fondue for proteins gives you control over the cooking in a way that rewards patience. The chocolate fondue for dessert is optional only if you are committed to stopping yourself.
